Hernandez’s career began after USC in commercial real estate and retail management, including time at South Coast Plaza, the internationally renowned shopping center owned and operated by the Segerstrom family, a Forbes 400 family that developed the property in 1965 and strategically elevated its tenant mix over time as the surrounding land increased in value. While there, Hernandez gained firsthand experience marketing to an affluent, predominantly female consumer base through print advertising, catalogues, direct mail, email campaigns, fashion shows, and in-person events. The role provided an early education in brand storytelling, consumer psychology, and how thoughtful marketing builds long-term loyalty.
In a pivotal career shift, Hernandez left a six-figure role to join the mailroom at United Talent Agency, earning $350 a week. The move proved formative. Today, Hernandez brings that same discipline and strategic mindset to luxury residential real estate.
